General Motors Partners with ID.me to Enable Military Discount Program

ID.me to verify military status for GM Military Discount Program, giving military members the ability to save on new GM vehicles

MCLEAN, VA--(Marketwired - December 01, 2017) - General Motors (GM) partners with ID.me to verify the military statuses of customers enrolling in the GM Military Discount Program. ID.me is the next-generation digital identity platform enabling convenient, trusted interactions between individuals and organizations. Supported by ID.me's technology, GM provides exclusive discounts to its military customers, all while protecting customers personal information.

The GM Military Discount Program helps eligible service members save hundreds, even thousands on eligible new Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC vehicles. The offer is available to Active Duty members, Reservists, National Guard members, Veterans within one year of discharge date and Retirees -- including their sponsored spouses -- of the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard.

To enroll in the GM Military Discount Program, visit www.gmilitarydiscount.com and click on the Troop ID button to verify your military status. More than half of the U.S. active duty military population is already verified with ID.me's Troop ID, streamlining the experience further.

Blake Hall, Founder and CEO of ID.me and Army veteran, launched ID.me to make it easier and safer for members of the military community to claim the benefits they earned through their service.

"I founded ID.me after observing a Veteran display his DD-214 separation paperwork, which listed all of his sensitive personal information, just to prove his military service to an organization. There had to be a better way," Hall explains. "Seven years later, we have credentialed over half the active duty community and millions of Veterans into a secure and privacy-enhancing digital ID that gives our members control over their information. We are proud to be able to partner with great brands like GM in recognizing our servicemen and women"

The ID.me platform currently supports 200+ partners, including federal agencies, veteran service organizations, ecommerce retailers, digital subscription services and automobile companies like GM.
