StorageMart Adds Self Storage Chicago Units on the West Side

StorageMart is growing in Chicago and invites West Side residents to experience the easy, clean service provided at the company's new 4906 West Madison Avenue location.

The addition of this storage facility marks the third of the company's Chicago self storage locations, with another seven facilities spread among the Chicago metropolitan area.

StorageMart's new Madison Ave facility offers 462 units, opening up nearly 30,000 square feet of storage, and boasts a 5,300 square foot drive-in loading bay, which is large enough to accommodate 15 cars.

The historic five-story building is among several reclaimed and renovated buildings within the StorageMart family. StorageMart is proud to repurpose and "upcycle" old buildings that might have otherwise been vacant or condemned – like an abandoned grocery store that now offers convenient storage in Overland Park, Kansas. Tim Burnam, vice president of development and construction at StorageMart said of the newest property in Chicago, "It's a beautiful building and we have plans to blend our interior renovations to complement this historic building, which was built in 1926."

StorageMart plans to restore and update the property. These plans include preservation of the historic tiles on the exterior of the building, upgrades to brighter and more efficient lighting, renovating the large loading bay to make it even more accessible, roofing repairs, and updates to the ventilation system. These improvements will make self storage more convenient and enjoyable for residents in the Austin, West Garfield Park and Oak Park neighborhoods.

Customers can access their storage units using unique PIN codes at the office and take advantage of the convenient 5,300 square foot loading bay, which has ample room for large moving trucks and vans. The barrel roof provides protection from the sweltering summer sun and the Windy City's infamous winters. Carts and dollies save time and effort at the five-story building.
