Queen City Angels invests in Healthy Roster's mobile app which makes it easy for parents to connect with Certified Athletic Trainers, from local area hospitals, when their kids get hurt playing youth sports

Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) December 19, 2016

Queen City Angels today announced an investment in Columbus, Ohio-based Healthy Roster, creator of a mobile sports-specific electronic health record. Healthy Roster's mobile app makes it easy for parents to connect with Certified Athletic Trainers, from local area hospitals, when their kids get hurt playing youth sports, while also helping trainers log and track injuries of kids they train. The company plans to use the investment to scale its sales efforts and to continue product development.

"Our vision for our app is to help hospitals and their sports medicine departments cover more kids," said Nathan Heerdt, CEO of Healthy Roster. "Instead of just focusing on local area high schools, trainers can now cover middle schools and youth leagues with our app. More coverage means more support and less risk for youth athletes/sports."

As a Columbus-based start-up, Healthy Roster was introduced to QCA through Rev1 Ventures and Ohio Tech Angels, which led the early stage round of funding.

"QCA has been amazing to this point, and it's made clear through their due diligence process that they are dedicated to supporting and growing Ohio-based start-ups," added Heerdt. "The Midwest can be a hard place to raise large rounds of funding, but by starting with angels groups like Ohio Tech Angels and Queen City Angels, you can build early momentum with organizations dedicated to giving local startups their first real funding round. We've met some great people through QCA and recently added Ted Capossela to our board."

"Nathan and Healthy Roster are introducing an innovative and timely solution to a significant challenge for young athletes, parents and athletic trainers across the country," said Capossela. "We are impressed with what Nathan has accomplished to this point with the company's technology and broad list of partners in the medical field and athletic training industry also recognize the challenge with injury management. Healthy Roster has quickly found its footing in sports medicine, and we are excited to help the company continue its progress."
