Organization Also Recognizes Members for Community and Leadership Excellence

PHOENIX (PRWEB) October 28, 2016

The Arizona Association of REALTORS® (Arizona REALTORS®) held its annual Leadership Conference on October 13 in Phoenix, where state and local association officers were installed for the upcoming year. The event also served as an opportunity to recognize members for leadership and volunteerism.

The Arizona REALTORS® 2017 President, Paula Monthofer, begins her tenure on December 1. As a part of her platform, she encourages members to recognize they are the Ambassadors of the American Dream and of "Home." Monthofer will serve with President-elect Lori Doerfler, Vice President D. Patrick Lewis and Treasurer Mary Roberts.

"Paula brings her vast industry knowledge and passion for the community with her each and every day," said AAR CEO Michelle Lind. "With her leadership, we are confident our association will build on past successes and continue to be a resource for members, buyers, sellers and property owners."

Arizona REALTORS® also recognized its own for excellence in community service with the 2016 Community Outreach Awards. In the association category, the SouthEast Valley Regional Association of REALTORS® (SEVRAR) was recognized for battling homelessness by working together to remodel a home as a part of the House of Refuge organization.

In the REALTOR® category, Doug Groppenbacher of Tempe, Ariz., was honored for purchasing used hotel furnishings for the Veteran's Furniture Center in Phoenix and for delivering sports equipment, medical and school supplies to the Casa Franciscana Outreach in Guaymas, Mexico.

The 2016 Tyler Strout Vision Award was presented to Arizona REALTORS® 2015 President Jim Sexton and the Arthur Crozier Distinguished Service Award to former Risk Management Committee Chair Jan Leighton. Both awards honor members who provide outstanding service to the association's strategic focus areas and exemplify the best prepared real estate practitioners.

"Our honorees have made a significant impact within the industry, association and our communities," said Arizona REALTORS® 2016 President Paula Serven. "It's our privilege to recognize these members for their many accomplishments."
