LULAC Hosts Fourth Annual Latinos Living Healthy: Feria de Salud in Los Angeles

The feria will focus on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle by promoting healthy eating habits and the importance of exercise and healthy living

For the fourth consecutive year, LULAC is will host the Latinos Living Healthy: Feria de Salud in Los Angeles, California. The event will be held at El Pueblo Historical National Monument at Olvera Street from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The feria will focus on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle by promoting healthy eating habits and the importance of exercise and healthy living in an environment that is fun for the entire family. The fair is free and open to the public.

"We cannot ignore the high rates of obesity, diabetes, and cancer in the Latino community," said LULAC National President Roger C. Rocha, Jr. "Through the Latinos Living Healthy initiative, LULAC is providing Latinos with the information to recognize the negative consequences of unhealthy habits while providing solutions to live healthier lives."

The Feria de Salud will offer free health services including blood pressure tests, osteoporosis screenings, vision exams, dental check-ups, flu shots, BMI tests, and HIV tests. Families can take advantage of hockey drills with the LA Kings NHL Hockey Team, cooking demonstrations, and a farmers market. Entertainment will feature Cuicani and banda sensation Noel Torres. LULAC invites members of the community to come to Olvera Street to enjoy all of the free activities offered at the Feria de Salud.

The Latinos Living Healthy: Feria de Salud is generously sponsored by Walmart, CDC's Partnering and Communicating Together (PACT), Pfizer RxPathways, Goya Foods, The California Endowment, the Environmental Defense Fund, and Southwest Airlines.
