GEM Advertising executive Peter Kozodoy was a recipient of this year's Junior Achievement (JA) Green Bat award.

New Haven, CT (PRWEB) September 15, 2016

Peter is the Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of GEM Advertising, an international, award-winning communications and marketing agency located in New Haven, CT. He has been a member of JA for 3 years and serves on both the JA of Southwest New England Board of Directors and the JA New Haven Advisory Board.

The JA "Green Bat" awards started a few years ago when one of the JA field offices was able to get Louisville Slugger® to produce special green (JA's color) bats. JA decided to use these unique colored bats as a way to reward board members for going above and beyond in any given school year. JA has been handing out the awards for about 10 years in Hartford and kicked off the ceremonial tradition in New Haven in 2015. Along with Peter, Brian Levine from People's United Bank was also awarded with a Green Bat.

"Peter Kozodoy was selected based on his incredible commitment to Junior Achievement. Peter is constantly thinking "big picture" and is looking for opportunities that will help put JA on the map, like lobbying for JA to be the sole non-profit invited to participate in the Jordan's Furniture New Haven grand opening and providing a chance for JA staff and students to meet Warren Buffet. On top of that, his firm GEM Advertising has annually provided pro-bono video production for numerous JA events, further allowing us to tell our story in a powerful and inspirational way. For these, and many more reasons, Peter is highly deserving of this prestigious honor," remarked Jeremy Race, President, Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, Inc.

Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices. JA programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers, and provide relevant, hands-on experiences that give students, from kindergarten through high school, knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. Today, JA reaches 4.6 million students per year in more than 120 markets across the United States, with an additional 6.5 million students served by operations in 117 other countries worldwide.
