Foxwoods Resort Casino Reports August 2016 Slot Revenue
Foxwoods® Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $41.9 million for the month of August 2016. This figure is down 1.4 percent compared to $42.5 million in August of 2015. Handle for the month was $527.1 million, down 0.9 percent from the $531.8 million wagered in the same month in 2015.
Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in August 2016 is $10.6 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.9 billion.
The August entertainment lineup matched the summer heat, led by red-hot country super group Lady Antebellum and a nostalgic turn from iconic pop acts 98 Degrees, O-Town, Dream and Ryan Cabrera as part of the MY2K Tour. Foxwoods audiences also enjoyed dual residencies at the Fox Theater, taking in contemporary circus performances with the world premiere of Cirque Éloize Saloon and world-class illusions with the return of Criss Angel's The SUPERNATURALISTS. All-star comedy from Hannibal Buress, Wanda Sykes and dynamic duo Nick Offerman and Megan Mullaly rounded out the slate by keeping the laughs coming throughout the month.
Elsewhere on property, the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods participated in Tax Free Week with an exciting Back-To-School Scavenger Hunt, and the Lake of Isles hosted the Kevin Ollie Charity Golf Classic, raising money for people with disabilities alongside UCONN's legendary basketball coach.
September kicked off with celebrity host Mario Lopez emceeing Foxwoods' $1,000,000 Dream Slot Tournament Grand Finale where Raymond B. of Marshfield, MA won the top prize of $250,000 while 19 other finalists each took home a minimum $25,000! The gaming excitement continued with weekend-long Labor Day Poker tournaments featuring a guaranteed $100,000 payout.
