SparkFun Welcomes Glenn Samala as CEO starting August 15, 2016

Boulder, CO (PRWEB) August 15, 2016

SparkFun® Electronics, a provider of electronics parts and educational tutorials, today announced the selection of Glenn Samala as Chief Executive Officer. As he announced in a June 2015 blog post, Nathan Seidle, founder of SparkFun, will transition to "Nate the Engineer" — focusing on building great new products, projects and tutorials.

"After a comprehensive search and interview process, we are pleased to have found the best individual to assume leadership of SparkFun," said Richard Parker, Director of Finance and CEO Hiring Committee member. "Not only does Glenn have a strong history in and passion for electronics, but he is a great cultural match and is committed to making electronics accessible to everyone."

Glenn was interviewed by over 30 SparkFun employees and was the unanimous recommendation for the position. He brings to the company over 20 years of executive management in the technology and manufacturing space, and has been a proven leader in managing organizations through change.

"I am glad Glenn has accepted this leadership role. He is the right match for the company and will be able to expertly navigate the next stage in SparkFun's evolution," said Nathan Seidle, founder and former CEO of SparkFun. "What will I do? I am going to stick around and get back to my engineering roots — building crazy stuff, putting together tutorials, and getting out into the community."

Nathan has been both founder and CEO of SparkFun for the last 13 years, leading the company through exponential growth and ensuring it stays close to its mission to make electronics accessible to everyone. His unwavering commitment to supporting beginner through advanced hobbyists and makers drove the company to produce one of the largest electronics tutorial libraries in existence; design and release products that stay ahead of the market; launch an education branch of the company to meet the specific needs of K-12 schools and higher education; and nurture a diverse customer community that is dedicated to innovation, open source and making.
