Festiva Selects the Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center as Charitable Fund Recipient

Festiva selects the Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center in Myrtle Beach as a recipient for donation from the Festiva Charitable Fund.

Festiva, the developer for the Festiva hotel and resort properties and the Festiva Adventure Club, has donated $1,000 to the Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The donated funds will go toward serving people in the community who seek help, hope and healing through professional counseling, consultation and education.

"This organization serves a crucial need for assisting individuals and families who need help yet do not have the insurance or financial resources to pay. From serving men and women with major depression, to helping single mothers struggling with parenting to seniors who may be overwhelmed by grief, those who need the most help when it comes to mental and emotional health are often those who lack access to it. The Coastal Samaritan Counseling Center provides hope for those, and we are so proud to support their cause," said Sonya Garner, central contracts director for Festiva, who is based in Festiva's Murrells Inlet office.

The Myrtle Beach area has one of the highest concentrations of resorts in the Festiva network. With 65 employees in the area, Festiva is constantly looking for ways to give back to this community through donations from a corporate level as well as from our dedicated employees who live and work there. The Festiva Charitable Fund Golf Tournament has been held at Festiva's Ellington at Wachesaw Plantation East in Murrells Inlet for several years, making a huge impact on the fund's annual donations.

Festiva began a flexible endowment fund in 2006 with the intent of providing permanent charitable resources for all the communities where Festiva employees live and work. The primary focus of the Festiva Charitable Fund is to promote education for youth and to assist in efforts to eliminate poverty in its communities. The charitable fund is also used to respond to extraordinary global events.
