HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

An investigative collaboration by PBS's Frontline program and NPR highlights Mostyn Law's successful efforts to seek fair compensation for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The report describes how Steve Mostyn discovered that insurance companies were systemically denying hurricane victims the compensation they were due under their policies. The fraudulent behavior included falsifying engineering reports.

"It was batten down the hatches and circle the wagons," Mostyn says in describing the insurance industry's response to the storm that battered New York and New Jersey in 2012. "It was a systematic culture and plan to hold back the losses."

The program aired on Frontline and NPR's All Things Considered on May 24. Mostyn Law's efforts on behalf of Sandy victims were also featured prominently in a 2015 report by CBS's 60 Minutes program.

Mostyn Law's role in seeking justice for Sandy victims is in keeping with its efforts on behalf of other hurricane and storms victims, including Hurricanes Ike, Rita and Dolly in Texas.

"Time and again, insurance companies have wrongly denied, delayed and unpaid legitimate hurricane claims," Mostyn said. "Victims are entitled to the money they need to rebuild their homes and their lives after these devastating storms."

Mostyn Law and its co-founders, Steve and Amber Mostyn, are currently engaged in a major civil lawsuit against Boston Scientific Corp. over its use of an allegedly counterfeit plastic resin imported from China for use in vaginal surgical mesh.
