Studies Weekly Every Kid Votes!™ K-6 Campaign Now Open For Election 2016
Materials for the Every Kid Votes!™ campaign from Studies Weekly (www.studiesweekly.com), the nation's leading provider of innovative learning and curriculum solutions for K-6 education, are available now. Curriculum and voting materials for the company's fourth Every Kid Votes!™ campaign are available from www.EveryKidVotes.org in conjunction with the 2016 presidential election.
To underscore its mission of building responsible citizens, Studies Weekly is inviting schools throughout the U.S. to enroll now for participation in the largest student mock election in history prior to the November U.S. presidential campaign.
Through this event and its accompanying curriculum (4 weeks of material for K-2 and 10 weeks for grades 3-6) students learn civic responsibility and gain appreciation for the democratic process that governs our nation. Schools can participate at their choice of two levels (both are free) to receive lesson plans and access to the online Election Day Data Stream, or if desired with classroom registration, to also receive an "Election Kit Box" (while supplies last) that includes four printed weekly units of Election Studies Weekly for each student along with posters, a pop-up voting booth, "I Voted Today" stickers and the opportunity to be a news-ready TV interview site.
On the mock election day, an interactive map will display red or blue to designate the leading candidate for each state with updated results every 30 seconds until 3:00 p.m. in each state's respective time zone.
"The Every Kid Votes!™ program teaches our students and future American citizens that they don't have to wait to be 18 to be heard," said Ed Rickers, Studies Weekly founder and CEO. "Through this program we're engaging students in our nation's most important critical thinking and decision making event."
Millions of students and thousands of schools will participate in the program, which are first come/first serve and are free to schools and students for as long as materials last. Rickers noted that through the Every Kid Votes!™ program, students have correctly predicted the winning candidate in all three of the most recent prior presidential elections.
