The Association for Environmental Health and Sciences (AEHS) Foundation is hosting its 26th annual Conference on Soil, Water, Energy and Air between March 21 and 24 in San Diego, California. Chlorinated Solvents and vapor intrusion mitigation experts EnviroForensics will present two presentations at the upcoming conference.

The AEHS event, expected to gather over 500 environmental professionals, delivers a robust network professionals sharing innovative information on advances in technology, new achievements in science, and reports on the success of current environmental regulation and remediation programs. Contributing attendees present findings, ideas and recommendations to state and federal regulatory agencies, environmental engineering and consulting firms, the petroleum and chemical industries, military and academia. Each year, the program is customized to meet the progressive demands of the environmental field, with a heavy emphasis on timely environmental issues.

Vice President, Chief Technical Officer Jeff Carnahan comments, "We're thrilled to be presenting again this year. It is an honor to share our ideas with colleagues in the field. We have some very interesting information to share and it will be great to promote discussions based on our findings."

The Indiana environmental consultants will be presenting a scientific case study "The Production and Management of Methane in Soil Gas during Remediation at Drycleaner Sites" and a policy-based evaluation "The Cost and Liability of Evolving Technical Guidance".

"The Production and Management of Methane in Soil Gas during Remediation at Drycleaner Sites" addresses the use of in-situ enhanced reductive dechlorination (ERD) inoculants as a method for a groundwater contaminant mass reduction that produces methane in the dissolved and vapor phases. The presentation will also address a preliminary estimation, monitoring and mitigation methods, as well as time for insights into the process and upcoming advancements.

The study "The Cost and Liability of Evolving Technical Guidance" addresses a number of sites with nearly 100 subsurface releases of PCE or TCE contamination have been reassessed in light of technical guidance changes since 2002. The Indiana environmental consulting firm will present a comparison of the assessment and mitigation costs that would have occurred if performed under older state and federal VI guidance (more conservative) versus the latest version of the Final USEPA VI guidance (less conservative).
