CommuniGift Celebrates LA Launch Event December 6th in Collaboration with Giggles N Hugs to Benefit Baby2Baby and Volunteers of America Recipient Families

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 01, 2015

CommuniGift, an online invitation and charitable gifting platform, will host its official Los Angeles launch in partnership with Giggles N Hugs, Baby2Baby, Volunteers of America and Mommy Nearest on Sunday, December 6 at 6:30pm at Giggles N Hugs Century City. The event will be held in honor of 4-year-old Jacquelyn, a CommuniGift recipient who will be treated to the birthday party of her dreams.

Through their common goal to create a convenient, transparent, and meaningful way to give back, four young undergraduates from University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill founded CommuniGift. They launched a pilot test during the holiday season of 2014 and quickly expanded to make a difference in kids' lives through the power of birthdays. "After a very successful beta launch, we feel very much at home in the Los Angeles community and are excited to strengthen our ties with partnerships like these so that we can do what we do best, put smiles on as many faces as possible!" says Thomas Doochin, 21-year-old co-founder of CommuniGift.

CommuniGift offers kids the opportunity to give back to their peers and communities by sponsoring a ‘birthday buddy' in their area. Hosts are able to choose one or more recipients through the CommuniGift site and link the birthday buddy's wish lists in their birthday invitations. Guests can then purchase a gift for the recipients from the CommuniGift site through integration with Target and it is shipped directly from the retailers to the sponsoring nonprofit. CommuniGift hosts still enjoy their birthdays as planned, but instead of adding dozens of toys to the top shelf of the closet, they have helped children less fortunate know the joy of having a birthday party of their own!

For families like Jacquelyn's, a birthday party is an expense they cannot afford. With the help Volunteers of America, 20 of Jacquelyn's classmates from the Head Start program will also be there to celebrate with family and friends. The CommuniGift launch also marks the first partnership of this kind for Baby2Baby, a well-known organization that provides low-income children with clothing and the basic necessities that every child deserves. This epic birthday party will include food, games, face painting, balloon animals, DJ, photo booth provided by Mommy Nearest, and more!
