CIH® Fall Exam Period Begins for Industrial Hygienists Working Towards Certification

Successful Applicants looking to take their industrial hygiene careers to the next level are now sitting for the Certified Industrial Hygienist® exam.  The Fall Exam window began on the first day of October and closes on the last day of November.  
 
The CIH® exam is administered by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®) and two exam windows are available each year: April-May and October-November.  Successful Applicants who have been approved to take the exam and have paid their exam fee can schedule to take the CIH® exam anytime within those timeframes.
 
The CIH® exam covers 200 questions that test an individual's knowledge and skills across the broad general practice of industrial hygiene. Subject areas include:
 


 
The allotted time for the two-section exam is 5.5 hours total, with an optional break between the two sections.  ABIH® has contracted with Prometric to provide exam locations throughout the United States, Canada and in many other countries across the globe. For those who missed the August 1st deadline to become eligible for the Fall Exam window, the Spring 2016 Exam deadline to submit completed applications is February 1st.
