Lancaster Carpeteria Goes Green to Help the Environment

In light of America Recycles Day, a national initiative of Keep America Beautiful occurring on Sunday, November 15, 2015, Lancaster Carpeteria recently announced it has gone green.

"We are now recycling 100 percent of our carpet and padding with Los Angeles Fiber," said Barry White, owner of Lancaster Carpeteria. "It was a no-brainer to go green as it is great for the environment."

Barry further states that Lancaster Carpeteria, the only carpet store in the area that recycles, is for the second consecutive year offering a one-dollar-per-yard rebate for anyone who purchases Stainmaster carpet who wants to go green and recycle their old carpet. As for recycled padding, it is chopped up and made into new pads, whereas carpet is recycled to make car parts.

In addition to Lancaster Carpeteria, Barry and his twin brother, Larry, own Santa Clarita Flooring, which also recycles 100 percent of its carpet and padding. The White brothers were encouraged to start their own business by their mother, who offered her financial support as well.

"This is a family business from top to bottom, and we are all passionate about helping the environment," said Barry. "In honor of America Recycles Day, we strongly urge everyone to recycle, not just carpet but anything that is recyclable. If everyone does their part, we can make a huge difference in protecting the Earth."
