The play will be performed 25 times across six cities, with each set of performances supporting a specific beneficiary dedicated to helping the homeless. Regional Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital's sole sponsorship of the play's San Jose appearances ensures that 100 percent of funds raised through ticket sales will be provided to the Theatre on San Pedro Square and the designated nonprofit, HomeFirst.

"Regional Medical Center is proud to support such an artful cause to combat the issue of homelessness and to promote HomeFirst's efforts in providing food, clothing and other necessities to Silicon Valley's homeless community," said Mike Johnson, president and CEO of Regional Medical Center.

"We hope the community will join Good Samaritan Hospital's efforts to end homelessness in the Silicon Valley," said Paul Beaupre, CEO of Good Samaritan Hospital. "We are honored to support ‘STAND' and its very important message."

"STAND," which was recently named the best new play by Nashville Scene, tells the true story of a drug-addicted homeless man named Johnny "JJ" Ellis who was saved by a Good Samaritan. It is directed by David Compton, and stars Barry Scott as "JJ" and Henry O. Arnold as the Good Samaritan.

The San Jose performances will take place at the Theatre on San Pedro Square, Thursday, Oct. 22 through Saturday, Oct. 24 at 8:00 p.m., with an added matinee performance, Oct. 24 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $32 for general admission, $15 for students, and $30 for seniors.
