Foxwoods Reports August 2015 Slot Revenue
Foxwoods® Resort Casino has reported slot revenue of $42.5 million for the month of August 2015. This figure is down 9.5 percent compared to $47 million in August of 2014. Handle for the month was $531.8 million, down 5.9 percent from the $565.1 million wagered in the same month in 2014.
Foxwoods' contribution to the Connecticut Special Revenue Fund in August 2015 is $11.1 million, bringing the cumulative contribution to the state since Foxwoods opened in 1992 to over $3.8 billion.
Foxwoods also recently awarded one lucky guest a lump sum million dollar prize as part of the $1,000,000 Dream Slot Tournament.
August marked another star-studded summer month at Foxwoods, as the property captivated guests with a packed entertainment schedule. A wide array of stars graced the stage at the Grand Theater including legendary rock groups Yes and Toto, alternative rock sensation Smashing Pumpkins, cult icon Marilyn Manson and the Empress of Soul herself, Gladys Knight.
The Fox Theater played host to a month-long residency by Cirque Éloize iD, dazzling crowds with the troupe's urban, dance-infused take on modern circus. At the Fox Tower pool, former "Jersey Shore" star and current turntable fixture DJ Pauly D treated guests – including Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski – to a wild time at Liquid Sundays, the Northeast's only Vegas-style pool party.
September promises to usher in an exciting fall season with performances by Diana Ross and The Legends of Motown, as well as a night of spectacular illusions with Murray: Celebrity Magician. Foxwoods also welcomes iconic celebrity tattoo artist Mario Barth and the opening of his King Ink studio on property. Also new: The launch of the property's first annual Foxwoods Restaurant Month, featuring delicious specials and never-before-seen dishes across nine different eateries. To close out the month, Muay Thai returns to Foxwoods with Lion Fight 24.
