Summerlin Synagogue Names American Soprano Heather Klein as Cantorial Soloist


Las Vegas, NV, July 09, 2015 --( Temple Sinai Welcomes American Soprano Heather Klein as New Cantorial Soloist.

Klein follows her passion of painting pictures with her voice – interpreting and inhabiting characters, and bringing stories to life.

Temple Sinai of Las Vegas is proud to welcome Heather Klein as its new Cantorial Soloist. Heather is a classically trained singer who performs opera, Yiddish classical song, theater and folk music, as well as other styles. For the past decade, she has performed across the U.S., Canada and Europe as a soloist and as part of various musical groups and opera companies.

Most recently, Heather worked on a new opera by Frank London at the Sundance Theatre Lab in North Adams, Massachusetts. During the month of March 2014, Klein portrayed the role of Queen Esther in the West Coast premiere of the musical Itzik Manger's Di Megile and reprised the role in 2015. Klein has been teacher, fellow and scholarship student over the last 10 years at a Yiddish festival in the Laurentian Mountains called KlezKanada. Over the last three summers Klein has performed the roles of Lilith, Rosie, and this past summer premiered in a new Yiddish play at KlezKanada, in Quebec. She has also taught at Limmud in the Bay area and taught song workshops at synagogues and festivals.

Klein, who grew up in Las Vegas, has a Bachelor's and Master's from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Heather is excited to return to Las Vegas and begin her new position at Temple Sinai.
