Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 01, 2015

Houston's Last Concert Café has six phenomenal musical events planned for its customers and patrons throughout the month of July.

Punk Rock Fest kicks off the month at 8 p.m. Friday, July 3. This all-ages event features local acts Don't Feed The Animal and Giant Kitty. Tickets are $8 each in advance and $10 at the door.

Local act Michael Shanks and the Merry Shanksters brings their unique style to Last Concert Café at 9 p.m. Friday, July 10. The Hightailers will be the opening act. A $5 cover charge is required to attend.

Born in Houston, Shanks moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas before leaving to perform in Argentina with another band. Shanks' songwriting reflects his worldly experiences. His musical style is self-described as "funk, folk, and everything in between."

The following night, Saturday, July 11, The HEWE Showcase will be featured. Please contact the Last Concert Café for more information regarding this show.

New Orleans funk rock act Flow Tribe takes the stage at 9 p.m. Friday, July 17. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

D.R.U.M. Reggae, an acronym for Divine Rhythm United Motion, will perform on Friday, July 24. This award-winning act combines African rhythms with pop hooks and some jazz, funk, R&B, and Latin influences for good measure. Contact the Last Concert Café for more information.

Finally, the 29th annual Watermelon Dance & Summer Social to benefit KPFT 90.1 FM will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25. This features many musical acts, including Guitar Dave, Midnight Eyes, and the Clearlake School of Rock. Tickets are $10 each between noon and 2:30 p.m. and regular charge after that.
