MutualOne Bank provides its customers with a refreshing approach to banking with personal service, local reach in the Framingham and Natick MA communities and a commitment to the ‘latest technology'. The bank recently completed a project that retrofitted every fluorescent lamp at the corporate offices with a breakthrough LED solution from ThinkLite that immediately began to save MutualOne up to 60% in electric consumption.

"MutualOne Bank is committed to good corporate citizenship and that means being a sustainable business and an example to others." said Steve Sousa, Executive Vice President and COO. "For example, we recently installed solar panels on our roof. And now, with ThinkLite, we were able to extend our focus on sustainable initiatives to our lighting program."

The ThinkLite retrofit included replacing all fluorescent lamps in the facility including traditional T8 tubes in both four foot and eight-foot lengths. U-shape fluorescent tubes were replaced with ThinkLite's proprietary U-shaped LED tubes. All ThinkLite tubes provide better light while consuming less than half the wattage of the traditional fluorescents they replace.

"MutualOne was impressed with ThinkLite's position on green and sustainable practices. When transitioning to LED lighting, we ask ‘why change the entire fixture when you can just change the lamp'?" said Dinesh Wadhwani, ThinkLite CEO. "Our approach resulted in significant financial savings by using existing fixtures and there is the intrinsic benefit of keeping old fixtures from ending up in landfills."

MutualOne's Sousa was extremely pleased with the process and the result of the bank's lighting retrofit. "The installation went more quickly than expected. And once completed, employees commented on how the new lights were aesthetically pleasing, delivering uniform light that replicated the light of the fluorescents replaced, if not a bit brighter."

Sousa summed it up, "The installation was extremely cost-effective and over time, MutualOne will save a lot of money. We are very happy working with ThinkLite."
