Public Service Announcement: Military Training Conducted in Algoma District

SAULT STE MARIE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 7, 2015) - Approximately 50 soldiers from 49th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery (49 RCA) will conduct exercise YORK STEEL from 8-10 May, 2015. The training will be conducted in the Echo Bay area of the Algoma District and will involve the use of both military vehicles and weapons.

Exercise YORK STEEL will focus on manuevre and deployment of artillery guns and motorists are asked to be cautious if in the area of Algoma District. Residents should be advised that soldiers will be carrying service rifles with no ammunition and will dressed in personal protective equipment.

49th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery is an Army reserve unit located in Sault Ste. Marie which is part of 33 Canadian Brigade Group, headquarter in Ottawa.
