BARCELONA, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

FusionLayer, Inc. today announced the unveiling of its upcoming IP Address Management (IPAM) technology, FusionLayer Infinity at Mobile World Congress. With its superior architecture designed for the Internet of Things (IoT), the upcoming solution has been designed to scale up to one billion managed objects over time.

"As the IoT gains further momentum, the number of managed IP addresses is expected to explode as we head towards the 2020s," said Juha Holkkola, chief executive at FusionLayer. "With the proliferation of connected devices, the next-generation architectures deployed in public and private clouds must be designed to withstand millions, and eventually hundreds of millions of IP addresses. This is simply not possible with the decade-old architectures in use today," he continued.

FusionLayer Infinity has been designed to provide communication and managed service providers with:

  • Engaging user experience powered by automation
  • Unparalleled scalability designed to accommodate up to a billion objects over time
  • Plug-and-play integration with the industry-standard SDN, NFV and orchestration solutions from Cisco, HP, VMware and OpenStack

Most organizations active in the IoT and cloud computing have by now realized that traditional networking technologies and the associated operational models are unable to keep pace with the dynamic nature of on-demand computing. To enable instantaneous changes in network infrastructure, the network industry has introduced new technologies such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software-Defined Networking (SDN) designed to effect automated changes in real-time. This, in turn, has introduced a new set of problems.

"The industry consensus right now is that server workloads, network services and networks themselves will be automatically deployed and configured by a collection of purpose-built orchestrators and controllers," said Holkkola. "Since all these orchestrators and controllers will have to co-exist inside shared and often overlapping networks, this development necessitates a new management and provisioning layer in the Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) stack that enables interoperability between them all. Some people call it magic – we call it FusionLayer Infinity."

FusionLayer Infinity is currently in beta with an expected release date in the second quarter of 2015. Before the public launch, FusionLayer is inviting interested parties to contact us for a private beta invitation.
