MAHWAH, N.J., Jan. 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Radware® RDWR, a leading provider of application delivery and application security solutions for virtual and cloud data centers, today announced the integration of its Alteon® and DefensePro® platforms into Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) fabric.

Integrating Radware's platform to Cisco's ACI fabric will enable large enterprises, hosting service providers and ISPs automated tenant-based application delivery and security services. The automated service insertion is controlled by Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) that offers a single control point to provision, automate and monitor applications in the Data Center.

Cisco's ACI is a holistic architecture with centralized automation and policy-driven application profiles. ACI delivers software flexibility with the scalability of hardware performance in the data center and is designed as an open architecture.

"With Cisco ACI, the agility of the datacenter is greatly increased without compromising application SLAs and performance," says Soni Jiandani, SVP, Marketing, Cisco. "Applications can move, scale-up or scale-out while retaining the associated services without any location specific constraints. Together with Radware attack mitigation security, our joint customers can now deploy a very secure micro-segmented data center."

Application policies can be optimized to best address the changing SLA requirements of applications as ACI utilizes Radware application delivery and security services anywhere throughout the network. Radware will offer 'Device Packages' that includes its Alteon NG ADC and DefensePro, attack mitigation device per application and/or per network tenant. Cisco APIC will automate the service insertion process while acting as a central point of policy control.

"We share a common vision with Cisco of an application driven data center. Together, we will offer an integrated Layer 2-7 architecture that can respond to business application needs and security requirements, dynamically," says David Aviv, vice president of advanced services. "Radware with Cisco ACI delivers a true application aware network. Together, we can provide simplified automation so applications can be deployed faster and efficiently with scalable application service intelligence and integrated service security."
