Stein Mart, Inc. Reports November Sales

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Dec. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Stein Mart, Inc. SMRT today reported total sales for the four-week period ended November 29, 2014 of $127.9 million, a 6.7 percent increase over total sales of $119.9 million for the four-week period ended November 30, 2013. Comparable store sales for the four-week period ended November 29, 2014 increased 4.8 percent from comparable store sales for the four-week period ended November 30, 2013.

Total sales of $1.06 billion for the forty-three week period ended November 29, 2014 increased 3.5 percent from total sales of $1.02 billion for the forty-three week period ended November 30, 2013. Comparable store sales for the forty-three week period ended November 29, 2014 increased 2.6 percent from comparable store sales for the forty-three week period ended November 30, 2013.

Geographically, Texas and Florida had the strongest sales in November, while the Northeast, Midwest and West performed lower than the chain. One new store was opened during the month in Carlsbad, CA. The Company operated 269 stores at the end of November this year compared to 264 stores last year.
