MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

SciQuest, Inc. SQI, a leading provider of cloud-based business automation solutions for spend management, today announced that the Atlanta Housing Authority (AHA) has selected and implemented SciQuest's eProcurement solutions as a major step toward total business transformation.

AHA purchased SciQuest's Total Supplier Management, Sourcing Director, and Contract Director products. Both the Total Supplier Management and Contract Director solutions have been implemented successfully. The agency will begin implementation of Sourcing Director, with production rollout scheduled by the end of 2014 and entire implementation, including integration of solutions scheduled for June 2015.

For the past four years, AHA has been in the process of upgrading and improving business and system challenges that hampered its ability to effectively serve its customers, with an ultimate goal of finding a tool to integrate the business units within the organization. When it became apparent that there was not a single solution to fit the needs of all functional areas, the organization began its search for a way to automate the entire procurement and contract process and eliminate the intense labor, excessive paper, redundancy, and inefficiencies.

The agency, Georgia's largest public housing authority and one of the nation's largest, serving approximately 50,000 people, investigated several vendors but chose SciQuest because it allows the agency to document how it spends federal funds, is user-friendly, and requires little, if any, customization.

“The SciQuest solution came with the right tools at the right time,” says Joy W. Fitzgerald, interim president and CEO of AHA. “While preparing to implement the solutions we undertook the arduous process of assessing our operations, revising our procedures and producing training documentation and user guides to help us streamline while remaining fully auditable and in compliance with our governing regulations. All of that helps to ensure that AHA's investment in the SciQuest solution and the staff who will use it will be successful.”

“We are extremely proud to extend our leadership in the public sector by working with our first public housing authority customer as part of such an impressive business transformation effort,” said Doug Keister, Senior Vice President of Sales at SciQuest. “AHA is another great example of how forward-thinking organizations are expanding their requirements and need for a single solution to encompass eProcurement and invoicing, sourcing and contract management.”
