With heavy snowfall pummeling the Great Lakes region this week, Amica Insurance is sharing survival tips to keep in mind if stranded during a winter storm.
If possible, try to ride out the storm at home, as hypothermia and frostbite can lead to the loss of fingers and toes, permanent damage to the kidneys, liver and pancreas, and even death. But if you must go out and become stranded, Amica is offering advice from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to help stay safe:
