CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

According to Green Lodging News, a dirty packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) often has to work twice as hard and consumes twice the electricity to reach cooler room temperatures.1 To help hoteliers select the best A/C coil cleaning process as they plan their 2015 budgets, Cintas Corporation CTAS, today released a complimentary white paper covering the results of two independent A/C coil cleaning studies while providing tips for improving unit life.

“Dirty A/C units have to work a lot harder and longer to cool the room, causing both increased noise and annoyance to guests,” said Todd McKeown, Vice President of Direct Sale Strategic Markets, Cintas. “This guide explains how hotels can save thousands of dollars in reduced energy costs while creating a clean atmosphere for both employees and guests, simply by investing in a proper deep cleaning of their units on a routine basis.”

Readers of Cintas' new white paper, “Clearing the Air on A/C Unit Maintenance and Care,” will learn:

  • How different types of A/C coil cleaning systems impact energy savings
  • How cleaning performed by an in-house provider differs from an outsourced provider when cleaning Vertical Fan Coil units
  • Tips for extending the life of a PTAC or Vertical Fan Coil units

“If you're a hotel operator, you can benefit from reading this white paper,” added McKeown. “By properly caring for their A/C units, hoteliers can enhance the cleanliness of their property while saving time and money, and providing guests with a better stay. The money saved can be used to offset cost increases in other areas of hotel operations or allocated to another area of the budget to improve the guest experience.”

A complete version of the white paper will be available at Cintas booth #2330 during the 2014 International Hotel/Motel + Restaurant Show. In addition to the white paper, Cintas will showcase its sustainable solutions at the show on Nov. 9-11.
