New York, NY (PRWEB) October 29, 2014

The non-profit organization AFS-USA, a leader in international high school student exchange, invites New Yorkers to celebrate diversity and global education at its second annual AFS International Bazaar.

On Saturday, November 8th, current AFS international exchange students will share their cultures and exchange experiences. AFS-USA staff will also be on hand to speak about intercultural programs available to youth and adults that promote global education. International snacks will be provided. This open event will take place from 2:00 – 5:00PM at the Cultural Hall, 3rd floor of the Church of Latter-day Saints, at 125 Columbus Ave, between 65th and 66th streets. Please register for the event by emailing Megan Perlleshi, AFS-USA Team Development Specialist: mperlleshi(at)afsusa(dot)org

“AFS-USA looks forward to meeting with old friends and making new acquaintances at the Bazaar,” says Dr. Tonya Muro, Director of School Outreach and Educational Partnerships. “Attendees can learn so much, even in a couple of hours, about the intensely rich experience of getting to know people of diverse backgrounds. There is a great deal at stake in today's world if the many opportunities to educate our youth about the importance of global citizenry are not fully realized. AFS-USA encourages families, teachers and community leaders to attend the event on November 8 to learn more and look forward to meeting globally-minded New Yorkers.”
