AP Number One Mississippi State Climbs To 17th After Win Against Auburn

According to the TiqIQ Top 25, which tracks the most expensive average ticket prices on the secondary ticket market, Ole Miss now has the fifth most expensive average ticket price amongst college football teams. The average price to see a game at Vaught–Hemingway Stadium is $181. The average price for a game on Mississippi State's home schedule is $136. This climb in average price coincides with Mississippi State's first-ever number-one ranking in the AP Top 25, and Ole Miss' number-three ranking.

Over the five years that TiqIQ has been tracking the average price of tickets on the secondary market, this is the highest-ranking either Ole Miss or Mississippi State have ever had. At the start of this season, Ole Miss had an average price of $80, which was the 53rd most expensive ticket in the country, while Mississippi State had an average price of $113, which was the 30th most expensive ticket in the country.

Despite their loss to Ole Miss, Texas A&M remains ahead of the two Mississippi schools in the ranking, with an average price of $206 on the secondary market this season. The other schools above Ole Miss in the rankings are Notre Dame, Georgia and Ohio State, which has the most expensive average price in the nation at $241.

With Ole Miss' rise in the TiqIQ Top 25, five of the 10 most expensive schools are from the SEC. In addition to the top five teams, nine of the Top 25 teams are from the SEC, including LSU, ranked eighth, and Alabama, which is ranked ninth.

After the SEC, the Big 12 is the most represented conference with six schools in the Top 25. Baylor and Oklahoma are sixth and seventh in the rankings with average prices of $177 and $176, respectively. The Big Ten follows with five schools and the Pac-12 has four.

Of the teams in the TiqIQ Top 25, 17 are also ranked in the AP Poll. Ranked eighth in the TiqIQ Top 25, LSU has the highest average price of AP unranked schools with an average price of $171. The highest ranking school in the AP Poll to not appear on the TiqIQ Top 25 is second-ranked Florida State. The $111 average price for Seminoles home games is three spots below the 25th ranked Texas Longhorns.
