PASADENA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Tetra Tech, Inc. TTEK announced today it has been awarded a $650 million multiple-award indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to support the improvement of urban infrastructure in developing countries. More than half of the world's population live in urban areas and face increased risks from climate change, as well as health and economic impacts from the lack of adequate water and infrastructure services.

“Tetra Tech is pleased to support USAID in working with local governments to provide the basic infrastructure services necessary to meet many of the challenges facing urban centers in developing countries,” said Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech's Chairman and CEO.

Under the Making Cities Work IDIQ, Tetra Tech will support USAID in providing technical solutions to improve the delivery of water, transportation, and sanitation services in urban areas. Tetra Tech will also work with local governments to strengthen their ability to prepare for and respond to natural disasters, improve environmental management practices, and increase their resiliency to the impacts of climate change.
