SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Shareholder Rights Law Firm Johnson & Weaver, LLP is investigating potential violations of the federal securities laws by Trinity Industries Inc. TRN and certain of its officers. The investigation will seek to determine if certain officers and directors of the Company breached their fiduciary duties relating to modifications made to a highway guardrail system.

On October 20, 2014, a federal jury found Trinity liable for hiding information from the U.S. government over changes made to a guardrail system. The jury said those violations caused the government to incur $175 million in damages, making the Company potentially liable for three times that amount in liability payments. Additionally, numerous other states have prohibited further purchases of the guardrail system citing safety concerns.
