ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Arrow Electronics Inc. ARW today announced its Internet of Things Immersions Roadshow that will showcase how “Interconnected Intelligence” is changing the way the world interacts and solves problems with technology.

The Immersions tour will engage the world's top technology leaders to discuss comprehensive Internet of Things (IoT) building blocks and how businesses can leverage Interconnected Intelligence to improve lives throughout the world. With forums in four key U.S. markets, Arrow connects technology developers with leading-edge suppliers to provide insights about IoT technologies and services, discuss topical issues and applications, and see demos of IoT solutions created with Arrow's support, and more.

“The true goal of technology is to benefit people and improve their lives,” said Mike Long, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Arrow. “Collaborative learning on how society can improve, by being better connected and better informed, is what Arrow hopes to accomplish with our Immersions tour.”

In each city, Arrow will welcome approximately 1,500 innovators and thought leaders from businesses, government agencies and academia. The tour is scheduled for the following cities:

  • Atlanta, Ga. -- Oct. 30, 2014
  • Minneapolis, Minn. -- Dec. 11, 2014
  • San Jose, Ca. -- March 5, 2015
  • Boston, Mass. -- March 26, 2015

During the event's keynote presentation, Indy Racing League team owner and former driver, Sam Schmidt, will share his story of how working with Arrow on machine-to-machine (M2M) technologies enabled him to drive official qualifying laps at this year's Indianapolis 500, following a car crash that left him a quadriplegic in 2000.

“Thanks to Arrow's holistic view of the Internet of Things, we're able to maximize business process efficiency, convert system data into business intelligence and create new sources of revenue through Interconnected Intelligence solutions,” said Andrew Bryant, chief operating officer of Arrow's global components and enterprise computing solutions businesses.
