Tomiko Fraser Hines to Empower Women with Infertility by Serving as RESOLVE Ambassador

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is pleased to announce that Tomiko Fraser Hines, model, actress, motivational coach, and self-proclaimed “infertility overcomer,” has partnered with RESOLVE as a RESOLVE Ambassador to educate the public about the disease of infertility.

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association is pleased to announce that Tomiko Fraser Hines, model, actress, motivational coach, and self-proclaimed “infertility overcomer,” has partnered with RESOLVE as a RESOLVE Ambassador to educate the public about the disease of infertility. Hines will kick off her participation with RESOLVE by serving as the Grand Marshal and Emcee for the 500 expected attendees at the RESOLVE Southern California Walk of Hope on September 21, 2014 in Long Beach.

Hines is a fashion model and actress, best known for being the first African American face of Maybelline, from 2001-2007. Six years ago, Hines was diagnosed with infertility due to premature ovarian failure, an autoimmune disorder. She and her husband began the emotionally draining journey and spent thousands of dollars, pulling from their retirement savings, on a number of different infertility treatments. After six years of trying to conceive, Hines and her husband powerfully chose to use an anonymous egg donor, and Hines gave birth to twin boys.

“RESOLVE is thrilled to embark on this partnership with Tomiko,” said Barbara Collura, President/CEO, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. “As celebrities come out about their personal experiences with the disease of infertility, and get involved in charitable organizations like RESOLVE, together we can raise awareness to help people feel less isolated and provide them access to important resources during their family building journeys.”

Hines and RESOLVE decided to partner together so that Hines can leverage her infertility experience and public image while using RESOLVE's resources to empower women to be strong and seek support in the face of this devastating disease. She will work with RESOLVE on educational and awareness initiatives to help educate the public about the disease of infertility with a special focus on outreach to the African American community.
