Product Offerings Highlight Oclaro's Leadership Position in Coherent Pluggable Transceivers, Components and 100G Client Side Pluggable Optics

SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Oclaro, IncOCLR, a leading provider and innovator of optical communications solutions, today announced it will be demonstrating a powerful new line-up of 100G solutions at next week's ECOC tradeshow in Cannes, France. Featuring continued improvements in high density, low power dissipation and smaller form factors, Oclaro's 100G portfolio is designed to meet the growing demands for increased bandwidth and low latency in optical transport and wireless access networks, enterprise networks and data centers.

Oclaro has continued to invest in research and development to deliver technology innovation that provides real value and differentiation for customers. The results of this focused effort will be on display in the Oclaro ECOC booth #MR7 with a broad product offering that showcases a new analog coherent CFP2 pluggable transceiver and market leading 100G client-side pluggable optics, including a second-generation CFP2 LR4 transceiver. Oclaro will also be showing its tunable SFP+, the Micro-iTLA, and 100G lithium niobate modulators, all of which are in volume production.

"Oclaro's 100G solutions are at the heart of the fast optical networks and high-speed interconnects driving the next wave of streaming video, cloud computing, voice over IP, SaaS and other bandwidth-intensive and high-speed applications," said Adam Carter, Chief Commercial Officer at Oclaro.  "We are excited to be bringing such a powerful round-up to ECOC and look forward to helping our customers relieve their main pain points as they strive to meet the exploding demands for more bandwidth."

About the Micro-iTLA with Flex Grid

Oclaro continues to ramp production of its second-generation LambdaFlexTM micro-iTLA TL5350 with flexible grid operation.  The Oclaro micro-iTLA TL5350 builds on the legacy of Oclaro's highly successful indium phosphide based tunable transmission portfolio, and includes an advanced locker technology to enable the user to set the optical carrier to any optical frequency in the C-Band.  Additional key features of the micro-iTLA include an optical output power of 15.5dBm at less than 4.5W of power dissipation, and a 3x smaller form factor with significantly reduced power consumption compared to a standard iTLA.

About the Tunable 10G Wideband SFP+ Module

Building on Oclaro's strong history of 10G DWDM products, Oclaro's tunable SFP+ module is now in volume production.  The new tunable SFP+ module leverages a redesigned compact monolithically Integrated Laser Mach-Zehnder (ILMZ) chip, is fully compliant with the SFP MSA form factor, and operates at 1.5W at 70 degrees C with excellent OSNR performance.
