Blucora Announces Appointment of Mark Finkelstein as Chief Legal and Administrative Officer

BELLEVUE, WA --(Marketwired - September 16, 2014) - Blucora, Inc. BCOR today announced the appointment of Mark Finkelstein as Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, effective September 30. Mr. Finkelstein will oversee the Company's legal, compliance, and human resources departments and serve as an advisor on legal and corporate strategy matters. The Company's General Counsel & Secretary and its Vice President of Human Resources will report directly to him.

Mr. Finkelstein brings more than 25 years of legal, operations and leadership experience to the organization. Most recently, he served as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Emeritus Corporation, an NYSE-listed healthcare company with more than 30,000 employees. Prior to joining Emeritus, he served as a strategy advisor for private investment management firms in the United States and Europe and as the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors of Novellus Capital Management, a specialized asset management firm. From 1986 to 2006, he practiced law with the Seattle law firm of Graham & Dunn P.C., where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, complex financing strategies, and other corporate transactions. Mr. Finkelstein received his B.A. with High Honors in Economics from The University of Michigan and his J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Columbia Banking System, Inc.
