Quantum Technologies Files Shelf Registration Statement to Replace Expiring Shelf Registration Statement

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Aug. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (the "Company") QTWW, a global leader in natural gas storage systems, integration and vehicle system technologies, today announced that it has filed a new shelf registration statement on Form S-3 with the Securities and Exchange Committee (the "SEC").  This new shelf registration statement will replace the Company's existing shelf registration statement that expires on September 29, 2014.  

The Company does not have any immediate plans to offer or sell the securities under this registration statement although this shelf registration statement may be used in connection with the issuance of shares of common stock upon exercise of outstanding warrants that were previously issued under the expiring shelf registration statement. 

After the shelf registration statement becomes effective, this shelf registration statement would allow the Company to issue, from time to time, various types of securities, including common stock, preferred stock, debt, warrants and rights, or any combination thereof.  The specific terms of any securities offered will be described in a related prospectus supplement to be filed separately with the SEC at the time of the offering.
