"MoneyGram is proud to donate almost 400 pieces of electronic equipment – including laptops, desktops and a number of other devices – to Goodwill Industries of Dallas. Goodwill Dallas serves individuals with disabilities and disadvantages in the community by providing education, job training and essential employment," said Steve Piano, MoneyGram's executive vice president of human resources and global real estate. "This is just the start of a rewarding relationship between MoneyGram and Goodwill Dallas. We look forward to expanding this relationship to our other MoneyGram locations."

Included in the hundreds of pieces of computer equipment donated by MoneyGram were 135 laptops and numerous docking stations, monitors and desktop computers. MoneyGram readied each of the computers for use by wiping and refurbishing them for better functionality before Goodwill Dallas loaded them up for transport to their centralized operation in West Dallas.

For over 90 years Goodwill Dallas has been committed to providing job training and employment to those with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions. In 2013, Goodwill Dallas provided 4,879 education, job-related and employment services to North Texas residents. More than 1,000 individuals were placed into jobs, totaling $15 million in earned wages and benefits. In addition, 693 individuals were assisted by Goodwill's two Job Connection Centers located in Garland and Lewisville.

"Goodwill Industries of Dallas is fortunate to have the support of companies, such as MoneyGram, who play a vital role in the impact our organization can make in the community. A donation of this magnitude allows Goodwill Dallas to continue to provide sustainable employment to individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment," stated Rod Ginther, President and CEO of Goodwill Dallas.

The donation was arranged by MoneyGram's Information Technology department, working with Piano, who also serves on the board of Goodwill Dallas. MoneyGram plans to continue with similar donations in their other locations in Frisco, Texas, Minnesota and Colorado at a later date.
