Time Warner Cable and Adrian Grenier Are Asking How You Can Use Filmmaking to Let Your Voice Be Heard

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Time Warner Cable is partnering with actor and producer Adrian Grenier on the upcoming documentary “52: The Search for the Loneliest Whale in the World” and is calling on passionate filmmakers to share their inspiration as part of Time Warner Cable's Indie Film Month.

Beginning today, entrants can post a 15-second video on Instagram stating how they can make a difference and connect to the world through the art of film using the hashtag #TWCIndieContest.* All participants will then be asked to fill out an entry form through comment on their post.

One Grand-Prize winner will travel to New York City for five days and four nights to help assist notable documentary filmmaker, Josh Zeman, prepare for an expedition on the open seas. The winner's name will be included in the credits of the film and he/she will receive a $2,000 gift card to use on film equipment. In addition, one First-Prize winner will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to an upcoming film festival. The judging criteria for the winning submission will be based on the entrant's questionnaire, creativity and how well their video answers the prompt.

“52: The Search for the Loneliest Whale in the World” is a feature length documentary that will take audiences on a journey to search for the forgotten “52 Hertz Whale.” Calling out at 52 Hz, a frequency unrecognized by other whales, this mysterious creature is believed to have lived its life in solitude.

Adrian Grenier recently wrapped production on the Warner Bros feature film adaptation of the series the HBO series Entourage, other acting credits include; "The Devil Wears Prada", "Sex, Death & Bowling" "Cecil B Demented" and "Goodbye World." Founder of Reckless Productions, Grenier has also produced and directed such documentaries as "Shot in the Dark," "Teenage Paparazzo" and "How to Make Money Selling Drugs". About Joshua Zeman

Joshua Zeman has been creating independent films for over 10 years. His critically acclaimed horror documentary Cropsey, a critic's pick with The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Roger Ebert, was called “one of the year's best documentaries” and “one of the scariest films of the year” in 2011. Zeman is also the writer and director of Killer Legends, a horror documentary based upon Cropsey that examines the true crimes that have inspired our scariest urban legends. Produced in association with the CHILLER Network, the film was the #1 downloaded horror film and documentary on iTunes in June of 2014.
