Thomas Schultz Joins Spartan Motors as Vice President of Human Resources

CHARLOTTE, Mich., July 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Spartan Motors, Inc. SPAR ("Spartan" or the "Company") announced the appointment of Thomas Schultz as Vice President of Human Resources, effective today.  Mr. Schultz will report to John Sztykiel, Spartan's Chief Executive Officer. 

"Tom brings a wealth of experience and skills that include operations, human resources and talent development, as well as a background in managing large manufacturing facilities and senior roles in human resources," Sztykiel said.  "In addition to working for large, heavy manufacturing companies, he has expertise with small, specialty manufacturers that I am confident will prove valuable to Spartan.  Some of his more notable skills include ensuring that policies, people and business strategy align to support profitable growth, people development and succession planning.  With Tom's leadership in the human resources function, I am confident Spartan will become more successful in doing the right things the right way as we move the Company to the next level."

Mr. Schultz was previously employed by United Technologies, Energy Conversion Devices and United Solar Ovonics, and American Axle and Manufacturing.  He received a law degree from the University of Detroit, a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University and a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
