Donald Monson to Join Evercore as a Senior Managing Director in Its Technology Group

Evercore EVR announced today that Donald Monson has agreed to join the Firm's Investment Banking business as a Senior Managing Director in its Technology Group. Mr. Monson will be based in Evercore's office in Menlo Park, California and will focus on advising companies in the Internet and Digital Media sector.

Mr. Monson, who will join Evercore in September, was most recently a Managing Director and Head of International Internet and Digital Media Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan based in San Francisco. Prior to that, he was Head of Media Investment Banking for Europe, the Middle East and Africa based in London where he spent 10 years in J.P. Morgan's TMT Investment Banking team. Mr. Monson has extensive experience advising global Internet and media companies and private equity firms on mergers & acquisitions including Hellman & Friedman on its acquisition of Scout Group, Apax Partners on its acquisition of Trader Media, Naver Corp on its spin-off of NHN Entertainment as well as capital market transactions for Naspers, Baidu, Cheetah Mobile, Ctrip and Mail.ru. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Monson worked at Siemens Venture Capital in Germany and Silicon Valley investing in technology companies.
