BEIJING, May 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tarena International, Inc. TEDU ("Tarena" or the "Company"), a leading provider of professional education services in China, today announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Taiyuan Institute of Technology ("TIT"), a state-owned undergraduate college in Taiyuan, China. Established since 1954, TIT currently has over 14,000 full-time students.

Pursuant to the cooperation agreement, Tarena and TIT will jointly establish the Tarena-TIT Innovation and Employment Training Center and the TIT-Tarena Internship and Employment Training Center in order to improve students' practical skills and enhance their competitiveness in the job market. TIT students are eligible to enroll in Tarena's training courses during their senior year in college and earn TIT academic credits towards graduation. The cooperation is aimed at bridging the gap between college student talent supply and employer demand for qualified job candidates with practical skills.

"As China is moving towards a more IT-infrastructure based economy, college graduates need to have more practical skills in addition to a solid theoretical knowledge base in order to meet the growing employer demand for qualified professionals and emerge as winners in the increasingly competitive job environment," said Shaoyun Han, Founder, CEO and Chairman of Tarena. "Our in-depth cooperation with TIT is a great example of how we can work with universities and colleges in China to better prepare their graduates for the real world job positions and effectively increase their graduates' competitiveness and employment results. As a public company focused on professional education, Tarena is well positioned to forge similar cooperation with many more higher education institutions in China."

"After a thorough selection and due diligence process, we decided to choose Tarena as our partner to form the joint efforts in further enhancing our students' education experience by providing them with the practical training necessary to succeed in today's highly competitive job market," said Shiping Huo, President of TIT. "As an engineering institute, TIT's students have strong theoretical knowledge but lack sufficient practical skills and the real world project experiences. Tarena's strengths in IT training and strong brand in the industry match our needs perfectly. We hope the cooperation with Tarena can help our institute explore a new path in reforming our education system and improving our education quality."
