Semtech Receives Wi-SUN Alliance Certification for Its LoRa™ Long Range Transceiver Development Kit

Semtech Corporation SMTC, a leading supplier of analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced it has received Wi-SUN Alliance certification for the SX1272 development kit which shows the company's commitment to interoperable energy management and smart-utility network applications. The Wi-SUN Alliance is an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power wireless utility products based on the open global standard, IEEE 802.15.4g. Semtech is a contributor member of the Wi-SUN Alliance.

The Semtech SX1272 development kit, incorporating the SX1272 multi standard, low-power, long range transceiver, successfully passed Wi-SUN Certification for physical layer (PHY) profile based upon test specifications of the Wi-SUN Alliance. The development kit also passed PHY interoperability tests based upon products from multiple vendors. In addition, the Semtech solution obtained certification for EchoNet-Lite PHY profile.

Wi-SUN profiles enable interoperable, reliable and scalable low power networks for smart utility networks.
