PEMBROKE, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited (“AXIS Capital” or “the Company”) AXS today announced that Joe England has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, International Division at AXIS Insurance. This is a new position that will report directly to Mark Gregory, CEO of the International Division, AXIS Insurance.

Joe will retain his leadership roles as both the CEO and CUO of AXIS Specialty Europe SE.

Commenting on the appointment, Mark Gregory said, “Joe has been closely involved in the day-to-day underwriting of our Specialty Lines across the Division for a number of years. During this time, he has developed considerable experience and knowledge over a broad range of our business, and is particularly well-qualified to assume this new role.”

Prior to joining AXIS Capital in 2004, Joe was responsible for ACE's Marine Cargo & Specie London Market underwriting, and for the UK retail Marine & Risk Management survey operations of ACE Europe. Joe began his insurance career with the FLP Secretan Syndicate at Lloyd's in 1989.
