12-Night Guided South Africa Trip Honors Late Leader, Offers Early Booking Discount

Richmond, BC (PRWEB) April 16, 2014

Leading tour company Indus Travels is proud to announce the launch of their new 12-night Nelson Mandela, A Life Celebrated tour, which commemorates the great South African leader's life. Travelers will visit take in landmark sites, such as his birthplace, his final resting place, and Robben Island, where he was imprisoned for 18 years, as well as must-see attractions, including Cape Town, a game safari, and the spectacular Garden Route.

This exceptional small group tour runs July 14-26, 2014, over Mandela's birthday, and is led by a local South African guide with deep knowledge of the country's history and Madiba's contribution in the battle against apartheid.

A special discount of $400 per person is offered for all bookings made by May 31, 2014. The rate of $2,500 per person, which includes the early booking rebate, covers 12 nights in upscale accommodation, an in-depth sightseeing program with a private guide, many meals, and all land and airport transfers.

Starting in Johannesburg, travelers will discover the Mandela House in the Soweto Township and key sites of the liberation struggle across town. Traveling south to Durban, stops include the site where Mandela was captured in 1962 and the rural village of Qunu, where the former South African president grew up and found his final resting place.

Continuing along the coast, travelers will enjoy an included game safari in lesser-visited Amakhala Private Game Reserve and stunning coastal views along the famed 150-mile long Garden Route. A boat tour on the Knysna Lagoon, a visit to an Ostrich farm and the amazing Cango Caves, and a chance to see migrating whales are all featured along the way.

The trip ends in magnificent Cape Town, where the group will first pay a visit to Robben Island, the site of the prison Mandela was held in for 18 out of the 27 years, and City Hall, where the late leader held his first speech after his release. Also not to be missed are the panoramic views from the top of Table Mountain, and a day excursion to the nearby wine country, including the charming university town Stellenbosch.

Airfare is not included but can be booked directly through Indus Travels at competitive rates.

Indus Travels also offers a variety of other South Africa tours, including safaris, train journeys, and South Africa small group tours.
