PEORIA, Ill., April 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Caterpillar Inc. CAT voted today to maintain the quarterly cash dividend of sixty cents ($0.60) per share of common stock, payable May 20, 2014, to stockholders of record at the close of business on April 21, 2014.

"I am pleased to announce we are maintaining Caterpillar's dividend. Our global team's 2013 operational performance delivered record cash flow and resulted in the strongest balance sheet in more than 25 years. Our priorities for uses of cash and our commitment to deliver superior returns to stockholders through the cycles remain unchanged. This dividend, along with the largest quarterly stock repurchase of $1.7 billion completed in March, demonstrates this commitment," said Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Doug Oberhelman.

Including the announcement today, Caterpillar has paid a cash dividend every year since the company was formed and has paid a quarterly dividend since 1933.
