United Rentals Announces Early Termination of Waiting Period under HSR Act

STAMFORD, Conn. & BEAUMONT, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

United Rentals, Inc. URI today announced that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act relating to the previously announced acquisition of National Pump, the second largest specialty pump rental company in North America.* The closing of the transaction remains subject to the satisfaction of the other conditions set forth in the definitive asset purchase agreement. United Rentals expects the transaction to close early in the second quarter of 2014.
