Verastem Announces Addition to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index

Verastem, Inc. VSTM, focused on discovering and developing drugs to treat cancer by the targeted killing of cancer stem cells, today announced that it has been selected for addition to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index NBI. The addition to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index will become effective upon market open on December 23, 2013.

The NASDAQ Biotechnology Index is designed to track the performance of a set of NASDAQ-listed securities that are classified as either biotechnology or pharmaceutical according to the Industry Classification Benchmark. The NASDAQ Biotechnology Index is re-ranked annually. The NASDAQ Biotechnology Index is the basis for the iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology Index Fund IBB, which seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index.
