American Cruise Lines Continues to Lead the U.S. River Cruising Category

Rapid Domestic Growth and Strong Consumer Demand Lead to Further Expansion of Company Fleet

American Cruise Lines – the largest U.S. cruise company and operator of the newest fleet of ships in North America – today announces unprecedented passenger growth of over 25 percent in the past year, the third consecutive year of such growth.

American Cruise Lines attributes this growth to the following factors:

In response to this strong demand, American Cruise Lines is completing another new riverboat for its fleet. The new vessel is an authentic paddlewheeler that will accommodate 150 passengers. American Cruise Lines will announce more details about the itineraries and begin accepting bookings early next year. The line will also be announcing additional newbuilds in the next few weeks.

Recently, the company launched a brand new and authentic paddlewheeler named Queen of the Mississippi. The ship provides guests with an unparalleled blend of “old world” charm and modern day comfort, including the largest staterooms in the industry. Queen of the Mississippi has surpassed expectations, prompting the addition of new sailings and Mississippi River itineraries in 2014.
