UBM's Design Central, one of Aquafadas's most award-winning customers, won a slew of awards this past year for its work in digital publishing. Signum, a new mobile and desktop application that incorporates video, animation, social media channels, podcasts and hyperlinks to provide a highly interactive reading experience, took home the gold in the 2013 Content Marketing Awards' Digital Magazine Design category, “Best Design – New Publication.” The Content Marketing Awards (more info) exist to recognize impactful and strategic media created by communication professionals. With over 800 entries, contestants are judged based on a defined set of criteria specific to each of the categories, such as informational and entertainment value, quality of writing and display copy, creative use of imagery and typography, and consistency of color palette and style. UBM's Design Central's app EE Times 40th Anniversary also won CMA gold in the Digital Magazine Design category “Best Overall Design.”

The design firm also boasts two finalist spots for min's (Media Industry Newsletter) Best of the Web awards (more info); its EE Times 40th Anniversary app won an honorable mention in the “Digital Magazine” category, while EE Times – Rise of the Geeks: The Revolution was given an honorable mention in the “Tablet App – Free” category. UBM's Design Central finished the awards season strong with an ASBPE 2013 National Gold Award for both EE Times apps. ASBPE, the American Society of Business Press Editors, recognizes the best in editorial, design and online achievement each year with its Awards of Excellence competition (more info).

Daimler won the silver 2012/2013 Mercury Excellence Award in the magazine category for its publication Mercedes-Benz Transport, the central customer magazine for the Commercial Vehicles of Mercedes-Benz. The Mercury Excellence Awards recognize publications from the world of PR and corporate communications. Lufthansa's new digital magazine "planet" also received a prestigious Mercury Gold award in 2013 for the outstanding design of both the app and Web versions. Presented by the New York International Academy of Communication Arts and Sciences (IACAS), the Mercury Excellence Awards are one of the most important award competitions in the world of professional communications.

Mondadori France Digital won the 2012 Specialist Magazine of the Year Award from Digital Magazine Awards (2013 award not yet attributed). Its magazine Science et Vie Kids was celebrated among other magazines, individuals and advertisers from the digital magazine industry.

Canal+ won the grand prize for the multiplatform offer, consisting of app and web, from Grand Prix 2012 (2013 award not yet attributed). Grand Prix praises the top companies in device communication and the digital world.
