Company to Provide Cooperative Threat Reduction Logistics Support

MCLEAN, Va., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) SAI announced today it was awarded a prime contract by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) to provide integrated logistics services, including procurement, shipping, warehousing, international travel support, and program support for worldwide Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) operations. The single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract has a three-year base period of performance, two one-year options and a total potential value of approximately $100 million, if all options are exercised. Work will be performed globally.

DTRA is the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD) official Combat Support Agency for countering weapons of mass destruction (WMD). DTRA employees are subject matter experts on WMD, addressing the entire spectrum of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive threats. Under the contract, SAIC will provide cooperative threat reduction logistics support, including management of material procurement, shipping and warehousing; personnel logistics services; and logistics information system requirements.
